Protection of our Most Vulnerable Biotopes – Wetlands and Steppes – via Land Trusts
Wetland and “steppe” (or rather xerothermic and subxerothermic) biotopes are among some of the most species – remarkable, but also the most endangered communities of Central Europe. A number of these biotopes are currently in care or even in ownership of land trusts. Such sites are targeted by a project funded by The EEA Grant. The project will be implemented in the period of March 2015 – April 2016 by the Czech Union for Nature Conservation along with thirteen partners including eleven land trusts, T. G. Masaryk Water Research Institute and colleagues from Norwegian NGO Naturvernforbundet i Buskerud. The main focus of this project is the management of fifty selected sites, the project also includes research activities, exchange of experience with the Norwegian partner and will conclude with an expert conference.
The project worth CZK 10,275,623 has been supported by the amount of CZK 9,248,060.
The timely details about this project along with its outcomes will be posted on this website.
